Care from the inside out
Recovery also happens on the inside. Psychological support alongside physiotherapy, or as standalone sessions, for people living with pain, stress or anxiety, or who simply need support during treatment.

Part of your plan
Goals shared with your physiotherapist.
Or standalone sessions
You don't need to be a physiotherapy patient.
Its own room
First floor, away from the gym: privacy assured.
Body and mind recover together
Persistent pain, a temporary loss of independence and the uncertainty after surgery weigh on sleep, mood and the will to keep going with treatment. It is not weakness: it is what happens when the body changes and the mind tries to keep up.
At YinYang, psychology is part of the care pathway. It joins your plan whenever it makes sense, with shared goals and notes in the same record, and you can also book it yourself, independently.

This is for you if…
- You have lived with pain for months and feel it has changed the way you live
- You are in rehabilitation and find it hard to stay motivated
- You are about to have surgery, or just had it, and anxiety won't let you rest
- You feel constant stress, irritability, tiredness that won't go away
- Your anxiety gets in the way of work, sleep or relationships
- You simply need to talk to someone who knows how to listen
In a crisis or immediate risk, go to emergency services. Psychology sessions are planned support, not an emergency service.
Four areas of support
Everyone arrives with a different story. These are the areas we work on most often, and where working with physiotherapy makes the biggest difference.
Chronic pain
When pain lasts, the brain learns to expect it, and fear of moving feeds the cycle. Strategies to live with pain and stay on track with the plan.
Stress and burnout
Recognising the signs, understanding what drives them and reorganising routines and limits. Together with the Anti-Stress Circuit.
Anxiety
One-to-one support with goals set with you: understanding the triggers and gaining tools for difficult moments.
Post-operative support
Preparing for surgery, getting through the first weeks more safely and coping with a body that doesn't yet respond as before.
Support with a beginning, a middle and an end
Booking
Online, by phone or WhatsApp. If you are on a plan, your therapist can book with you.
First session
Getting to know us, understanding what brings you and what you would like to change.
Goals and plan
What we will work on and how often: weekly or fortnightly.
Follow-up
Regular sessions, notes in your record, coordination with the team if you allow it.
Review and discharge
We review at regular intervals. Discharge is agreed together, and the door stays open.
What to expect from each session
Confidentiality, continuity and clear goals. What is said in session stays in session.
- One-to-one sessions, in a dedicated room, with the same psychologist
- Confidentiality: we coordinate with the team only with your permission
- Goals set with you and reviewed at regular intervals
- Notes in the integrated clinical record
- Practical tools for the time between sessions
- Coordination with your physiotherapist, doctor or programme
Asking for help is not weakness. It is the part of the plan no one sees, and it often makes all the difference.

Before your first session
Do I need to be a physiotherapy patient to book?
No. You can book independently. If you are on a plan, coordinating with your therapist is an advantage, not a requirement.
Is what I say in session confidential?
Yes. We coordinate with the team only with your permission and only where it helps the plan, never the content of the sessions.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on what brings you and on your goals. We suggest a frequency after the first session and review it at regular intervals. Discharge is agreed together.
Is this psychology or psychiatry?
Psychology: support through conversation and practical tools, without medication. If a psychiatric assessment would help, we tell you clearly and help with the referral.
Can I book for a family member?
Yes, with that person's agreement. It is common in the Active Longevity programme and after surgery.
If you can't find your question, talk to us on WhatsApp.
Asking for help is also looking after yourself
